Since 2015, we’ve been bringing our family the tastiest popular snacks with our sister brand TokyoTreat. However, growing up in Japan, afternoon tea has always been an important part of my life. I want to share that culture with the world. From traditional, well-loved favorites to modern delights made by small creators
We work hard to highlight local Japanese snack makers. We’re committed to creating long-term relationships with our makers, connecting them with our members while we share their stories and passions.
We’re a small team based in Tokyo. Some of us are locals, while others are from across the globe. But we share a passion for Japanese culture and Japanese sweets. We curate and prepare your box in-house with love. We're so excited to share Sakuraco with you.
But because enjoying a cup of tea with traditional sweets has always been an important part of Ayumi's life, she wanted to share more of the roots of Japanese snack and afternoon tea culture.
By bridging the gap between local makers and the rest of the world, we're able to support small business and promote cultural exchange, while also giving you a unique and authentic taste of Japan.

Join SakuracoWhile tea has been enjoyed in Japan for hundreds of years, its humble beginnings remain relatively unknown to many across the globe.
Many rural workers created a snack time during the afternoon in order to recharge and fuel up for the remaining parts of the day. This was needed as typically only breakfast and dinner were eaten during these times.
Snack time was cemented as part of the modern routine when it was kept despite more people eating lunch.
Afternoons became associated with having tea, a sweet or light snack, and a chat with friends. Today, you can experience the traditional Japanese afternoon custom of tea time at home with Sakuraco, something Ayumi still enjoys to this day. Our curated selection of premium Japanese snacks and teas allows you to taste the authentic flavors of Japan and share the experience with friends.
